Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) today announced that Ericsson Cloud Manager has won a CTIA Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Award in the Mobile Cloud category. Now in its tenth year, the E-Tech awards program recognizes cutting-edge mobile products and services for excellence in transforming networks, businesses, smart cities, connected consumers and government. Winners were announced at an awards ceremony held September 8 at CTIA Super Mobility 2016.
Ericsson Cloud Manager supports mobile operators as they move to virtualized infrastructures to lower costs, improve service quality and pursue new business opportunities. It facilitates the transformation of network infrastructure to Cloud and SDN, and readily orchestrates, manages and monitors services running on geographically distributed, virtualized and physical resources. Its dynamic, model-based provisioning features enable the fluid orchestration of automated and manual activities.
“As operators shift from supporting applications in silos and largely manual operations to high levels of automation, they are faced with challenges that stem from the required changes to organization, process, technology, people management, KPIs and partners,” said Ove Anebygd, Head of Product Area Digital Business Systems, Business Unit IT & Cloud Products, Ericsson. “Readiness for these changes varies significantly for each operator. With Ericsson Cloud Manager, operators can leverage all resources, from people, and new technologies to embedded systems and processes, driving real business benefits.”
Cloud Manager is the only cloud management solution in the industry that covers all essential operational aspects of NFV to orchestrate and manage the lifecycle of virtualized network functions and associated virtual infrastructure. It is built upon a proven, carrier-grade software foundation that integrates to and stays in sync with any type of operational environment, and accommodates your requirements dealing with privacy, security and regulatory laws.
